Elder Law Attorney in Stafford, VA

Get your will written or a trust if you have a large number of valuable assets. Get the Advance medical directive and power of attorney in place so a family member or other designated person has the authority to direct your medical care or finances when you are no longer able to do so. This will give your family members peace of mind that they can take care of you and save them from a costly court action to get a guardianship.

You can take care of this now so that you have control over what you want to happen with your health care and your assets before you can’t tell anyone and someone else takes control. You can prepay funeral expenses, can designate where you want to spend your final days. You can make provisions to give your money to whomever you wish and to designate the person who will carry out your wishes.

We can also do guardianships if it is too late to get a power of attorney. We can help you with powers of attorney, advance medical directives and medicaid planning. Call us before you are at a crisis point. If one spouse is still healthy and wants to remain home call us to see how this can be done but still get your spouse qualified for medicaid.
If you plan ahead you can achieve your goals.

We can also help you with suggestions for nursing home, assisted living facilities and other resources. If you want to take care of your family member at home there are ways to do that and we can help you.
